  i've been a jw all my life and am thoroughly convinced this is the truth.

  but there is one thing that i just don't understand.

  many jw's believe that people who get resurrected in the new system will not get married.

  Field circus a one way street job

  when going in fs, i always felt like it was a one way street or conversation because i was there to argue and defend the contents of the wt and a!

  but none of us were allowed to consider as a possibility the other person's arguments.

  our job was to turn their minds around but the people on the other side made more sense than i did.

  Our job was to turn their minds around but the people on the other side made more sense than I did. I was really bad at the doors because they could refute me so easily and I guess I never really believed in what I was saying to them.

  I exactly what you mean... I never ever felt confidant enought to have a dicussion at the doors. At the time I thought it was because I wasn't studying enough or something but I realise now that it was more a case of not really believing in what I was saying!

  is a homosexual as bad as a paodophile to a jw ?

  the same guy that spoke to my mum on the doors yesterday was talking about them in the same catergory , aswell as saying that there are alot of 13 to 15 year old girls hanging around the local night club looking for a one night stands (she should of asked him how he knew about this , is that because he is there ?

  ) his point was is a man of 25 that picks up a 15 year old plastered in makeup at a nightclub a paedophile ?

  which was totally irrelevant to the point she was making about the local ex min servant that had abused his daughters friends in the cong even though he was good friends with thier parents and had known the girls since birth , so did know they were underage .

  During one of the big discussion I had with my mother this past week, my mother grouped homosexuality, paedophilia, bestiality and some other thing (cant recall) all in the category of despicability - her point being that the whole paedophile issue was nonsense!

  Welcome to the board.

  I do not wish to engage in a doctrinal debate about whether or not people will get married after armageddon, however you have come here for that and I implore you to keep an open mind and not automatically assume the worst about people.

  People would not waste time on this board if they new nothing or had no history with the witnesses. Do not judge people here by comments they make and misread humour as misunderstanding or lack of knowledge until you have gotten to know their personalities.

  My mother told me today that the end is so close

  she has been a faithful jw for over 50 years.

  she was taught that the end was coming in the late 50's.. today she said that the terrible conditions in the world today prove that the end is near.

  i told her that i. think that conditions in the world were a lot worse during ww1 and ww2 and it looks like things.

  I hate any major news event because discussing it brings about the inevitable "signs of the times" speech. The UK has an earthquake... yip you got it... sign of the end. Y'all should try living in a country with a crime rate as high as ours... everyday is a day closer!!!

  exciting news - stop the presses - her husband has been made an elder.

  she is 27 and he is 26... is that not a little young to be an elder?

  I think it is a joke to have a 26 year old elder. I most certainly would not if I were still a dub go to someone like him for advice - I mean he is a nice kid and all but the fact remains - he is a kid! He and my sister have no idea about life as they pioneered whilst living at home until they got accepted into Bethal.

  And no, he doesn't know anyone - as far as I can tell - he is not from a particularly influential family and they were sent to the congregation that they attend bu Bethal so who know!!!

  Watching crap on TV and playing on my laptop tonight.

  Hairdresser tomorrow am (not sure what I am doing with my hair yet but I need a change!)

  Wedding tomorrow pm

  Try to sleep as late as possible on Sunday morning (which is not very late with two kiddies running round)

  Going to Mom in Law for Sunday lunch

  Vegging on the couch with the in laws all Sunday pm

  Come home and be depressed about impending arrival of Monday

  I dont recall elders being elected so young - any ideas...?
